PAUL KELLY is an Equity Principal in the national law firm of Jackson Lewis. He serves as Chair of the firm’s White Collar & Government Enforcement Practice Group, and Co-Chair of the firm’s Collegiate & Professional Sports Industry Practice Group.
Mr. Kelly was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Boston for 10 years, during which time he investigated and prosecuted an array of federal criminal violations, including racketeering, fraud, corruption, and murder. Since leaving the Justice Department, he has specialized in white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, complex civil litigation and crisis management.
In addition to his criminal law and investigative background, Mr. Kelly also has extensive experience in collegiate and professional sports. He served as Executive Director of the NHL Players Association, and also as Executive Director of College Hockey, Inc., the entity formed to represent the 60 schools that play D-I men's ice hockey. Since returning to the practice of law after five years in the sports industry, Mr. Kelly has developed an extensive practice representing colleges and universities involved in NCAA enforcement actions and infractions cases. He also represents several professional sports teams, as well as athletes and coaches involved in various criminal and civil proceedings.
