Carmen Bannon is Interim Counsel for the North Carolina State Bar. She has been investigating and prosecuting disciplinary cases for the State Bar since 2006. She received her B.S. degree from Brown University and her law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. Before joining the State Bar staff, Carmen clerked at the North Carolina Supreme Court and was admitted to the South Carolina bar. Carmen acts as the State Bar’s liaison to the judiciary, gives frequent CLE presentations on legal ethics, and is an Associate Adjunct Professor of Law at UNC Chapel Hill. She is a past president of the Wake County Bar Association and has an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating.
More importantly, Carmen has a standard transmission Camaro SS with LED kickplates that say “Litigatrix,” which she can drive while wearing stilettos. She also trained her rescued pit bull to be a champion at agility competitions.
