Kaytie M. Pickett is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group at Jones Walker LLP, where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and appeals for clients in the government, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, and construction industries. Kaytie graduated from Tulane University in 2002, then taught high school art in Marks, Mississippi through Teach for America. She obtained her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law summa cum laude in 2009. After graduating law school, Kaytie had the pleasure of serving as a law clerk for Judge Rhesa H. Barksdale of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Since joining Jones Walker, she has been recognized in the Mississippi Business Journal’s “Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women” and “Top 50 Under 40” publications. She is a graduate of the 2015 Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi program and was also chosen as their commencement speaker. She is a former chair of the Appellate Practice and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections of the Mississippi Bar, former president of the Capital Area Bar Association, and former co-chair of the organization’s Women’s Initiative. Kaytie, her husband Dr. Drew Hayslett, and their ten-year-old son Harry, live on a lake in Brandon, Mississippi, where they enjoy gardening, kayaking, and gator-watching.
